Introduction
The Placement Feasibility Interview represents the entry point of the JobAut methodology and functions as a structured, person-centred process aimed at understanding whether a job placement is feasible and sustainable for an autistic adult.
It is not an administrative or preliminary step, but rather a foundational phase that establishes the basis for all subsequent methodological actions. Through this interview, the job coach and the coaches engage in a shared exploration of experiences, preferences, abilities, and contextual realities, generating a common understanding that will guide both the analytical and empowerment phases.
A key principle underlying this phase is that employability is not an intrinsic characteristic of the individual alone. Instead, it emerges from the interaction between the individual and their environment. Physical, social, and organisational factors all influence how a person functions in a work context, and therefore must be considered as integral elements of the assessment process.
The interview therefore combines relational engagement with structured observation, ensuring that both subjective experiences and observable behaviours contribute to the understanding of feasibility.
